Rooftop Party! (City View, Metreon - Lexus Laws of Attraction Photography Exhibition)

   We're big fans of rooftop parties for the views.  This one overlooked Yerba Buena Park, with the MOMA resting its chin at the end. We sipped pinot noir, perfectly effervescent with age, and enjoyed a lovely sushi bar which made uni (sea urchin) our next favorite thing.  Happily, uni tends to be more sustainable than many seafood choices, allowing us to dine with a clearer conscience :) 
    It was also great to run into friends and meet some new ones.  It wasn't hard to find things in common, as so many of the guests were either musicians, actors, or in the fashion industry.  (We both play music, Sam used to be in the film/theater industry, and Ariel's spent plenty of time at the catwalk).  Ariel even got help from a new friend to convince Sam to go to the next fashion week in NY.  She was pretty happy about that.

Family Photos in the Marin Headlands

  Saturday morning was spent with a totally wonderful family in the Marin Headlands, taking photos to celebrate and document their visit to San Francisco from Thailand. We had perfect weather and a ton of great group shots, plus so many beautiful smiles!

Pool Party after a Destination Wedding

    We have the travel bug.  Ariel's been on Kayak every day for the past two weeks looking up flights to Colombia, Puerto Rico, Argentina... really anywhere we can get away and have an excuse to put on our swimsuits.  Once we get there, we'll pitch a story to a mag editor, meet some great people, and capture some compelling photographs.
    And then there are destination weddings... our absolute favorite!  You mean we get to travel, and we've already been greenlighted for a photography project in an awesome new locale?  Yes, please. We took the photographs above, the day after a beautiful wedding in Grass Valley, soaking in the rays before our trip back home.  Bring on the summer high season!

Aimée + Gregory -- San Francisco Engagement Photography at Coit Tower

  He proposed to her on a romantic, rainy night at the top of Coit Tower. We went back to celebrate with them on a clear, sunny day to shoot their engagement session, Bowerbird Photography style! We're so excited for their wedding next month!!! Here's a sneak peek.

San Francisco Engagement Photos with Cecilia + Patrick

  Cecilia + Patrick are such a stunning couple! We spent a classic foggy San Francisco summer day in Golden Gate Park with them last Sunday to take their engagement photos, but you can't tell how freezing it was from these images, because we were having so much fun. Congratulations to you both on your engagement!

A Surprise Proposal!

  Last week we got to do a very special photo session with Angela and Erica! Angela had called us several months ago, with a secret plan. She and her girlfriend were flying to San Francisco for a little vacation, and they were going to document their trip by taking professional couple's photos. Little did Angela know, Erica was planning to pop the question! After weeks of secret emails and calls with Angela, we finally met them in Golden Gate Park, for some lovely photos in front of the waterfall, boating on Stow lake, and among the flowers in the Botanical Gardens. We were all having so much fun, and eventually made our way to the Native California section, where there stands an enormous and beautiful buck-eye tree.  While Erica was perched like a bird on one of its long branches, Angela secretly took the ring from her pocket, and holding it out in front of her, asked Erica to marry her.  She said "Yes!"  Erica was totally surprised and it was really one of the most beautiful moments that we've had a chance to photograph. (Ariel cried like crazy!)
  We had brought some champagne and left them for a few minutes to celebrate alone, giving us a good opportunity to walk in the park and dry Ariel's eyes. Angela and Erica are such a sweet and perfect couple, and we wish them all the best on their amazing journey together. Congratulations!

San Francisco Family Photography in the Presidio

  Joey! You are sooo cute! This kiddo was all smiles! We spent an afternoon in the Presidio with Joey and his parents and we're so excited about these images. What a loving and happy family!
