We are sooo in love with this photo of Laura and Chris! The dripping white wisteria flowers, the way Laura is hugging Chris -- total romance! We took these photos in the garden next to the De Young Museum in Golden Gate Park and we couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous setting. This is just a sneak peek -- many more pictures to come :)

We had a photo printed in the SF Bay Guardian music section! Emily Savage did an awesome article on two bands, "Rupa and the April Fishes" and "Shake Your Peace," which are embarking this week on a bike/music tour around the Bay Area. We took this image at sunset at the top of Dolores Park and we just love the energy that this photo captures!! Don't you just want to be part of the band?!

We met up with Christine and B on the UC Berkeley campus, to take their engagement photos last week. This shot was taken up at the Lawrence Hall of Science and it really says everything about this wonderful couple! They are so playful, so in love and so adorable!! All day the weather report said it was going to rain, but we never felt a drop of it and were able to spend several hours taking awesome photos on campus, next to their special tree, in the chemistry library and even among the cherry blossoms. We will post more photos from this shoot soon!

It was Ariel's birthday this past week and our dear friend Karina stopped by with some beautiful homemade cupcakes, topped with rose petals. Karina made cupcakes for our wedding last year, that included flavors like kiwi and chipotle. They were truly wonderful -- and so were these! Nom nom nom! We also took a birthday walk in the park, so more photos to come :)

We met Louella a few weeks ago, when we went to cover one of her cheese making classes for the newspaper at the Ferry Building. After the class, she asked if we could come to her house and take some portraits for her. Ariel is a cheese fanatic -- so you can imagine how quickly she said "Yes please!" We went over to Louella's lovely cheese house this week and were totally blown away by the variety of moldy, stinky, creamy yumminess wafting from her house! Louella has been making cheese for many years and you can tell by the way she handles and talks about her cheese, how much she loves what she does. At the end of our visit, we realized we hadn't once asked her to "Say cheese!" How could we have passed that up :)

Our friend Stef invited us to her birthday celebration last weekend in San Rafael. Her family lives on a beautiful piece of property, covered in old oak trees and also a variety fruit trees. We spent the afternoon picking gigantic lemons and eating the most delicious, homemade cakes, made by our dear friend Sunisa. One was chocolate and the other was this incredible meringue dessert called pavlova, which is filled with fresh whipped cream and fruit. Sunisa learned to make it when she lived in Australia with her soon-to-be husband Nat -- it was so yummy and filled with so much love! We have such beautiful friends and always leave these sort of gatherings totally blissed-out, sun-kissed and feeling oh-so lucky to be surrounded by a great group of kindred spirits. We hope you enjoy these snapshots from our day in the sun :)

Spring has finally arrived in our backyard and the plants are starting to bloom. Some of the first flowers to open every year are the elegant and lovely calla lilies. These photos remind of us paintings by Georgia O'Keeffe and her ability to isolate the flowers to capture their beauty, without any other distractions.
We photographed several weddings where the bride had a bouquet made of calla lilies. They are such gorgeous flowers, but also fairly hardy and tend to hold up well during the whole wedding day. What is blooming in your yard right now? Leave a comment and let us know!
