our second day hiking along the river.
we stopped in hauterives, which can only be reached by trails, and had a picnic along the river.
the river was FULL of huge fish!
first look at la malene, down in the valley.
we stayed in a 13th century castle and i called this our "princess" bed. haha!
and of course, they had an amazing restaurant there ...
this was one of our fave dishes on the whole trip: a poached pear, on top of a piece of toast, in a pool of this fabulous blue cheese sauce, topped with bacon. perfect flavor combos! YUMMMMMM!
